The University of Strasbourg, France’s third largest University, is home to a centuries-old, rich academic community dedicated to fostering high-quality education, research, and international collaboration in a diversity of fields.The university’s Faculty of Languages offers innovative and professionally-oriented distance-learning and on-campus master’s programs in translation/localization:The Master in Technical Communication and Localization (TCLoc) aims to provide students with top-notch continuing education training in technical communication, localization, visual communication, basic website development, project management, technical English and professional writing. The curriculum and learning materials have been developed by leading professionals and academic experts in these fields. The program is taught entirely in English and leads to both a master’s degree and an International Professional Level “Technical Communicator” certification awarded by tekom, Europe’s largest association for technical communication. Applicants must be fluent in English. Knowledge of French is not required.The CAWEB Master in Website Creation, Content Management and Localization adopts a unique cross-disciplinary approach to web development, combining both IT and foreign languages training in order to develop students’ skills in programming, web design, translation, localization, and project management for multilingual websites. The program offers a comprehensive exploration of all elements involved in creating multilingual websites and provides students with the practical knowledge and skills to manage any one of these tasks. Applicants must be fluent in French and English.The Institut de Traducteurs, d’Interprètes et de Relations Internationales (ITIRI) of the Faculty of Languages offers three on-campus Masters’ programs in Translation: Professional Translation, Audiovisual Translation and Literature Translation. They are certified "EMT" (European Masters' in Translation) by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Translation. ITIRI is a member of the Association Française des Formations Universitaires aux Métiers de la Traduction.
