While we’re seeing rapid development in the use of artificial intelligence in our industry, organizations need to be proactive in developing frameworks so they can take advantage of the tremendous opportunity while maintaining their integrity.
We would like to introduce the audience to the BCorp certification process and the tangible framework it offers companies in navigating the ethical challenges around AI. BCorp is a movement that promotes the importance of using business as a force for good. As the first translation company in the UK to become BCorp certified, we are now part of a global movement with over 7,000 certified companies across 92 countries.
Through our certification, we have established a solid framework for supporting all the key stakeholders of our business - our clients, our internal team, our linguists, and the wider community. With this framework in place, it has given us more confidence to navigate some of the challenges and ethical dilemmas ahead as we move forward with AI.
In this presentation, we would like to share some background about BCorp, what it stands for, and why we went on the journey to achieve certification. We will also share an overview of what is involved in the certification process. The focus will then be on some of the initiatives we have introduced as part of our commitment to the BCorp values and how we will leverage the framework moving forward as we further integrate AI into our business processes and service offerings.
Takeaways
Provide practical information and access to additional useful materials and resources to support my presentation.
Provide key interactive elements, a poll and questions for discussions. The aim is to encourage debate and idea generation around how we can respond to some of the ethical challenges around AI in our industry and create a healthy ecosystem that benefits all.
