Over the past 8.5 years, Giulia has been a pioneering force in localization at Shopify, strategically building and scaling a high-performance, globally-distributed team. Her innovative approach enabled the Canadian ecommerce platform to successfully expand into non-English-speaking markets by crafting culturally nuanced UI, brand messaging, and content that drives international growth and market penetration. With over a decade of expertise spanning localization, globalization, translation, marketing, multilingual content strategy, SEO, and vendor management, Giulia is now transitioning her wealth of experience to support startups through strategic fractional consulting. Her mission remains unwavering: empowering businesses to scale and enhance growth by making services, products, and experiences authentically accessible across cultural boundaries.
Carrie Fischer

Carrie Fischer is the Globalization Services Manager at Subway, headquartered in Milford, CT. She is responsible for all globalization-related strategies for the company. She has over 28 years of localization experience and has held previous localization positions at Bodybuilding.com as the Localization Program Manager; Hyperion/Oracle as the Director of the Worldwide Product and Translation Group, and Transparent Language as the Managing Editor. She is also a member of the Board of Directors at Women in Localization and a mentor. She is one of the charter members of Women in Localization when it first started in Silicon Valley. She has held various positions in the organization such as the Americas Geo Manager and Program Director of Global Community. She has presented and moderated many sessions for various industry-related events such as LocWorld, SlatorCon, Loc from Home, LocLife, Ascend and others. Her passions include helping others and continually learning to grow personally and professionally.
Julia Carrasco

Julia oversees Localization Program Management at Coupa Software, where she coordinates various teams, identifies software support requirements, and maintains effective cost control. With over a decade of experience on both the client and the service provider sides, Julia has consistently prioritized optimizing processes to achieve outstanding results. She is also an active member of Women in Localization.

Agnes Schöndorni-Schönner

Fuelled by a passion for connecting people and products across languages and cultures, Agnes thrives where technology and creativity intersect. With over a decade at GoTo (former LogMeIn), she started as a localization leader at a fast-growing startup and helped scale global efforts across UI, marketing, and documentation. Her role has evolved alongside the company, taking her across borders and into a global team where she now oversees web and marketing localization, with a focus on international SEO and driving major tech initiatives. Prior to GoTo, Agnes honed her expertise with 10 years on the LSP front, mastering the entire localization cycle – marketing translations, editing, project management, vendor management, and terminology. This extensive foundation helps her shape a holistic view on how people and technology work together.
