[GALA Valencia 2024] Who said it'd be easy? Walking the path of resistance to use GenAI in production
Navigating the intricacies of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in the enterprise business arena can be a thrilling journey. Our panel, composed of four seasoned technologists and business leaders, will shed light on this topic, steering clear of the technical jargon and diving straight into the practical aspects, good and bad. First, we'll discuss the challenges faced when integrating GenAI into everyday business practices. While cool, flashy, controlled demonstrations can be impressive, turning proofs of concept into real-world settings poses a significant set of complexities. One of the most pressing concerns is trust: can businesses genuinely rely on GenAI when faced with unpredictable scenarios? How are security teams at different organizations handling the impending need for GenAI while protecting system integrity and data privacy? Are there any workarounds? And even when it works, is it consistent and predictably accurate?
We also explore the foundational elements that drive the success of GenAI: the data, technology, human expertise, and processes. Through a series of case studies, our panelists will highlight moments of triumph in enterprise settings, especially within the realm of localization. However, as with any journey, there have been both expected and unforeseen obstacles. We'll share insights on the challenges we've navigated and the questions we're still grappling with. Now, getting away from what we do know, the panelists will lend us their first-hand technical expertise, and as we look to the horizon, we ponder the potential successors of LLMs. Are there emerging avenues of research and applications that are beckoning our attention? Can we ignore them for now, or do we need to start hustling?
